Darren Derbyshire Memorial Award

Eligibility: A full-time Red Deer Polytechnic student who attended a post-secondary program in the most recent academic year. The student must be continuing full-time studies in the subsequent year of the program in the upcoming academic year.

Criteria: This scholarship is in memory of Darren Derbyshire who dealt with life and its ‘gifts’ with dignity and strength. Darren quietly performed his job, excelling by determination and yet was always willing to share knowledge and lend a hand whenever it was asked for. Darren had a gentle demeanor but was passionate about those he cared for and football (soccer) which he loved. Darren was always truthful and respectful in everything he did. This scholarship is intended to recognize a student who exhibits some of Darren Derbyshire’s qualities and financial need.
