Dr. Birk Sproxton Memorial Award for Excellence in Western Canadian Literature

Eligibility: A full-time Red Deer Polytechnic student who attended in the most recent academic year and completed two of the following English courses: English 376, 377, 378, or 379. The student must be continuing full-time studies in the upcoming academic year. Preference will be given to students who also completed English 371.4.

Criteria: Outstanding work reflecting the genres in which Dr. Birk Sproxton practiced and was recognized; postmodern poetry, fiction, non-fiction that is witty, ironic, humorous, positive and playful in language and style.
